As someone who has been downsized and laid off three times over the last 10 years, I personally know the emotional rollercoaster of job loss and job search. It's healthy and neccessary to go through the process of denial, anger, depression........But it is not healthy to stay in a continous cycle that prevents you from acceptance and moving forward.

Throughout my journey I've come across and worked with Believers/Christians who use faith in every area of their lives, except their job search. They get caught up wordly views; "I'll never find another job making that kind of money", "I'll have to take a step back, a lower level position, a pay cut", "I'm lost, confused...."

The first to to getting out of this wordly mindset is to stop speaking death and defeat of your life. Dont say or repeat the negatism that comes through the media (unemployment rates, foreclosure rates......) Don't allow your family and friends to speak these things into your life either.
Next, Renew your mind daily. Focus on scriptures that remind of that God wants us blessed. He wants us to prosper in all areas of our lives including our careers and finances.

Then we should "write the plan and make it clear". Create a daily/weekly schedule with goals for networking meetings, applications, job fairs, etc. A clear personal marketing plan should be created as well as a toolking including a resume, references, accomplishment stories, target company list.......

Trust God in your job search just like ever other area of your life. Believe that He will design for and delivery you into a new job at the appointed time. But remember that faith without works is dead and that you must pray, create a plan and work that plan.
